Job summary

Audubon Schools is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant to provide engaging support on assigned campus. The role includes assisting the Lead Teacher with daily goals, organizing the classroom, and helping differentiate instruction for SPED students.

The position requires communication skills, teamwork, and professionalism, with opportunities to participate in ongoing professional development and school activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• Experience with public schools or charter schools desirable.
• Must be trained in CPI or willing to attend training.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with daily needs and classroom goals.
• Help clean/organize classroom and carry out the teacher’s vision.
• Observe lessons and differentiate for SPED students as needed.
• Record observations and participate in weekly meetings with staff.
• Support SPED students with extra help and behaviours supports.
• Build positive relationships with SPED students and monitor progress.
