Douglas County School District is seeking a SPED Teacher for Significant Support Needs (SSN) for the 2026-27 school year at Iron Horse Elementary in Parker. This one-year position serves K-12 students with significant and complex learning needs, providing individualized, evidence-based instruction and progress monitoring.

The role includes case management of IEPs, FBAs, and BIPs, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, supervision of educational assistants, and data-driven planning aligned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education is required.
• Experience leading IEPs, FBAs, and BIPs preferred.
• Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families.
• Ability to supervise educational assistants and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Support students in developing daily living and functional skills.
• Promote independence, communication, and social development.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and service providers.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and support educational assistants.
• Participate in district and building-level professional development and meetings.
• Lead development, implementation, and progress monitoring of IEPs, FBAs, and BIPs.
• Collect and use academic and behavioral data to inform instruction.
• Maintain accurate documentation for compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and communicate with families and team members.
