Job summary

The School of Science and Technology Spring in San Antonio, TX seeks a SPED Teacher to support eligible students under ARD/IEP frameworks. You will train staff, monitor progress, and ensure compliant, confidential instruction aligned with district guidelines.

You will coordinate ARD meetings, collaborate with general education and district personnel, and advocate for equitable educational opportunities for SPED/504 students. This is a full-time, on-site position at SST Sonterra.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsement.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Train certified teachers of special population and ensure confidentiality of students per laws.
• Participate in professional development activities and staff meetings.
• Assist in planning and implementing staff development for SPED.
• Monitor SPED/504 students' progress and use results to guide instruction.
• Compile and file reports and maintain documentation per district/state regulations.
• Ensure SPED environments are safe, organized and accessible for all students.
• Communicate with parents, students, principals, and teachers about progress.
• Collaborate with district staff and service centers to support SPED/504 services.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to meet SPED/504 needs.
• Advocate for SPED/504 students' equitable opportunities.
• Coordinate ARD meetings and serve on ARD/IEP committees.
