Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsement.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Train certified teachers of special populations and other staff while ensuring confidentiality of students.
• Participate in professional development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned.
• Assist in planning and implementing staff development and in-service programs related to special education.
• Monitor SPED/504 students’ academic progress and coordinate SPED instruction and scheduling.
• Compile and maintain reports, records, and documents required by district, state, and federal laws.
• Establish a safe, organized, accessible SPED classroom environment and communicate progress to parents and staff.
