Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) or an associate’s degree, or meet a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment (Mississippi Test: ACT Work Keys – Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics and Writing Subtests).
• Background check and current child abuse registry check required.
• A satisfactory employment record.

Responsibilities

• Participate in district and school professional development programs.
• Comply with all district policies and procedures.
• Participate in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning (min. 30 minutes weekly with the Certified Teacher).
• Model good reading, writing, and speaking skills for students.
• Support students by reinforcing skills taught by a certified teacher in language, reading, math, and social skills.
