This role works closely with students, families, general education teachers, and support staff to provide individualized instruction and services aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).ResponsibilitiesProvide specialized instruction and support to students with IEPs based on their individual academic, behavioral, and developmental needsDevelop, implement, monitor, and update IEP goals in accordance with student needs and applicable requirementsDifferentiate instruction to support students performing at varying academic and developmental levelsUse student performance data, assessments, and progress monitoring to evaluate growth and adjust instruction and interventions as neededMaintain accurate documentation of student progress, services, accommodations, and IEP requirementsImplement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), accommodations, modifications, and other individualized student supportsCollaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and other members of the student support teamCommunicate regularly with families regarding student progress, goals, services, and areas of supportParticipate in and contribute to IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferencesEstablish and maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environmentUtilize PBIS and preventative intervention strategies to support students' behavioral and social-emotional developmentParticipate in professional development, professional learning communities, and school-based meetingsCollaborate with school and network teams to continuously improve instructional practices and student outcomesMinimum QualificationsArizona State Certification in Special EducationMinimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least two years of K–8 teaching experienceKnowledge of IEP development, implementation, progress monitoring, and special education servicesAbility to differentiate instruction and provide individualized support based on student needsStrong communication, organization, collaboration, and documentation skillsCommitment to supporting Title I, multilingual, and diverse student populationsAbility to successfully complete required background checks and obtain/maintain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance CardCompensation & BenefitsAMS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support professional growth and long-term career success.Year-round salary of $58,331.25 - $64,571.89, DOE$2,000 sign-on bonusMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement plan with employer contributionsEmployer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurancePaid time offPerformance bonus opportunitiesOngoing professional development, training, and instructional supportOpportunities for career growth and advancement within the AMS networkJoin us to enjoy rewarding challenges and ongoing opportunities!
