Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Texas seeks a SPED Transportation Aide to safely transport students to and from home and campus daily, coordinating with the SPED Transportation Manager to meet schedules.

You will assist with equipment handling, conduct pre/post-trip inspections, and report maintenance needs; must be 21+, HS diploma, with 1 year driving a passenger vehicle and availability for evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience driving a non-CDL passenger vehicle.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.
• Expected to work a minimum of 32 hours per week.
• Must be able to work with open calendar.

Responsibilities

• Drives a SPED approved vehicle safely, in accordance with time schedules.
• Transports students to and from homes, campuses, and field trips.
• Oversees loading/unloading; ensures safety belts are fastened.
• Maintains order and discipline; reports severe disciplinary cases.
• Notifies appropriate individuals of route delays and maintains records.
