Job summary

Hall County Schools is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to maximize learning for students with disabilities in academics, interpersonal skills, and daily living activities. You will implement district-approved curriculum, document progress, and address individual student needs to create a safe and optimal learning environment.

Qualifications

• Georgia State Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
• Masters Degree in Special Education.
• Prior special education teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify learning issues.
• Participates in PPT meetings and helps develop IEPs for students.
• Assists students and staff in implementing IEPs and behavior plans.
• Coordinates with outside agencies and state/federal authorities as needed.
• Collaborates with administrators and teachers to tailor instruction to individual needs.
• Provides counseling and serves as a liaison between home and school.
• Keeps current professional knowledge through ongoing learning.
• Maintains accurate student records for colleges and employers.
