Job summary
Spotsylvania County Public Schools in Virginia is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide targeted instruction in self-contained classrooms for students whose needs aren’t met by general education.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to obtain Virginia license/endorsement as required by the Commonwealth.
- Prior teaching experience in a public school system preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction with individualized planning for students with disabilities.
- Develop, implement and annually review IEPs; maintain progress records.
- Screen, evaluate and recommend placements for the division’s special education program.
- Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide appropriate programs.
- Holds periodic parent conferences and/or home visits.
- Comply with all special education procedures as required.
