Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Valid Arizona Teacher’s Certificate.
• Valid Arizona Teaching Endorsement(s) in the subject area(s) to be taught.
• Must be in compliance with Arizona State law regarding standards for grade level and/or subject area that is being taught.
• Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must be capable of developing effective instructional programs.
• Strong knowledge of the English language including reading, writing and oral communication with extensive skills in spelling, punctuation and grammar.
• Knowledge of Spanish including reading, writing and oral communication is desired.
• General knowledge of special education curriculum and instruction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with students, parents and staff.
• Energetic, ethical and possess good emotional and physical health.

Responsibilities

• Establish a welcoming instructional climate for all students and families.
• Provide differentiated instruction based on individual student needs.
• Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned with district and state objectives.
• Present effective lessons as described in lesson plans.
• Develop and maintain a productive learning environment with clear behavior expectations and safety.
• Maintain accurate gradebooks and communicate progress to parents.
• Collaborate with special education teachers and administration as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and school functions; participate in district professional development.
