Job summary

Midland Independent School District, Franks Elementary in Midland, Texas, is seeking a 2026-2027 SPED Teacher (Resource/Inclusion) to join the Special Services Department. The exempt position reports to the Principal and Special Services Supervisor and aligns with district policies and the TEA framework.

Responsibilities include ARD/IEP collaboration, differentiating instruction, and fostering student growth—intellectually, socially, and emotionally—within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid teaching certificate for subject/grade level assigned; Special Education certified.
• Eligible for the appropriate Probationary Certificate through the TEA approved Teacher Certification Program.
• Student teaching or approved internship or approved Alternative Teacher Certification Program training.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and Individual Educational Plan (IEP) goal setting.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ARD Committee meetings on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEP through ARD process for each student assigned.
• Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned with written preparation evidence.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for individual student differences.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Employ varied instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Monitor student progress and provide differentiated instruction.
