Job summary

Waller Independent School District is seeking a Paraprofessional in specialized services (ISET/RESET/SAILS/CANS/ECSE) to support students with disabilities under a SPED program. The role requires assisting with various instructional and behavioral supports, under supervision of a SPED teacher, at Schultz Junior High School in Waller, TX.

The position is non-exempt with an hourly wage, typically 7.5 hours per day across 187 work days annually, starting immediately.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Education Aide Certification preferred.
• Ability to work well with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directives.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Bilingual (preferred).
• Two years experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Help meet the individual needs of students, including transfers and positioning.
• Assist with personal care such as feeding and hygiene.
• Manage behavior and intervene in crisis situations as needed.
• Develop student motor skills and conduct instructional exercises as directed.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper records.
