Job summary

Kraft Meadows Intermediate School in Caledonia, Michigan is seeking a Level 1 SPED Paraprofessional for part-time work at Dutton Elementary. The role supports students in math, reading, and other subjects under supervision of a certified teacher.

The position requires a high school diploma, with an associate’s degree desirable. Compensation starts at $17.91 per hour plus a $2.00 per hour differential for a 27.5 hour work week.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma required; associate’s degree desired but not required.
• Experience: experience working with elementary students in a classroom setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning with individual students or small groups.
• Assist certified staff with strategies based on student needs.
• Monitor tests and makeup work as assigned by staff.
• Perform clerical, classroom maintenance, and instructional duties.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Plan instruction techniques and prepare materials based on assessments.
• Administer assessments and interpret results.
• Record assessment data for teachers and administrators; complete forms and reports.
• Tutor in math and reading in small groups or one-on-one.
• Meet with teachers to discuss goals and progress; plan interventions.
• Attend professional development, trainings, and conferences.
• Provide personal/hygiene care for students as needed.
• Perform recess duties.
• Other duties as assigned by the principal.
