Eastern Upper Peninsula AppliTrack Consortium in Newberry, MI invites applications for a Paraprofessional in the Special Education/District department. The paraprofessional will support one or a few students under the supervision of teachers, assisting with physical tasks and reinforcing classroom lessons.

Starting wage is $17.50 per hour per Tahquamenon Area Schools Support Personnel Agreement. Duties include assisting students, coordinating with teachers, and participating in staff development.

Qualifications

• Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours)
• Obtain an associate's degree (or higher)
• A passing score on the MTTC Basic Skills Test

Responsibilities

• Assist assigned students with physical tasks as directed by supervisor
• Give reinforcement and support to students in various course subjects as directed
• Support the teacher with methods, materials and strategies for reinforcements on target students
• Aid the teacher in communication between home and school
• Participate in ongoing staff development as directed
• Communicate regularly with teachers as to students' needs and progress
