Job summary

Alvin ISD is seeking a paraprofessional to assist a special education teacher in meeting the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in both special and general education settings.

You will help implement classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instructional activities, under the general supervision of the principal and a certified teacher.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of college (48 hours) or an associate degree.
• Pass the Alvin ISD Paraprofessional Assessment of Competencies.
• Valid Texas Education Aide Certificate is obtainable through Alvin ISD if hired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities.
• Support classroom programs including self-help, behavior management, and instruction.
• Work under general supervision of the principal and the certified teacher.
