Job summary

Cobb County School District is seeking a Paraprofessional, Special Education at Hendricks Elementary School in Powder Springs, GA. Starting Sep 1, 2026, with a 181-day work year and a NH0 pay grade under the paraprofessional salary schedule. Reports to the Principal; FLSA non-exempt.

The role supports SPED classroom activities, assists with data collection, and participates in IEP-related tasks and school functions.

Qualifications

• Education level: associate degree or 60 college hours above remedial level or high school diploma with GACE paraprofessional assessment.
• Must maintain Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate.
• Experience: None.
• Ability to lift a student up to 60 pounds without assistance; two-person lift for heavier students.

Responsibilities

• Assists the classroom teacher with students to complete educational activities.
• Assist with record keeping and data collection.
• Participates in school functions, field trips and extracurricular activities as indicated.
• Assists with hall duty and bus loading/unloading as directed.
• Assumes a lead role with substitute teachers when the classroom teacher is absent.
• Assists with toileting, diapering, food preparation, feeding and other delegated medical procedures.
• Assists with movement of students within the school and in positioning and therapy as directed.
