Morehouse Parish Schools seeks a SpEd Paraprofessional with ASL certification to support instruction for students with exceptionalities. You will assist classroom teachers and provide language support in ASL to help students access the curriculum.
Candidates must meet NCLB qualifications and demonstrate experience with deaf students. The role offers opportunities for growth through the district's pathways and professional development programs.
SpEd Paraprofessional with American Sign Langauge (ASL) certification
Must be highly qualified as set forth by NCLB Section 1119.
Must provide evidence of training and proficiency in american sign language, and has had experience working with deaf students.
1) Passed the Para-Pro Assessment with a passing score of 450 or better, OR
2) Completed two years of full time study (48 semester credit hours) from a state approved or regionally accredited institution of higher learning, OR
3) Earned an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Appied Science Degree from a state-approved or regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
Once employed, you will be eligible to participate in the District's Paraprofessional to Certified Teacher Pathway via Oxford Teachers Academy - Reach University. (Get your Bachelors in Education online while working for the School District)
