Job summary

Kent School District is seeking a paraeducator for Glenridge Elementary School. The position follows a 190-day KAP calendar with a daily schedule averaging 6.5 hours. The hourly salary ranges from $30.89 to $37.99, with salary annualized and spread through August.

Continuing contract type; benefits provided. Applicants may qualify via AA degree or 72 college credits or ParaPro score, or plan to take the ParaPro test if needed.

Qualifications

• Must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington through one of the listed options.
• If not yet meeting a qualification, applicants may still apply and later take the ParaPro Assessment prior to formal hire.
• Post Hire Requirements: complete state required training offered by Kent School District Professional Development Team.

Paraeducator Requirements

Prior to starring, candidates must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington through one of the following means:

• Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• 72 college level credits from an accredited institution
• A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.
• If you do not yet meet one of these qualifications and are willing to take the ParaPro Assessment, you can still apply. If you are the chosen finalist candidate you will have the opporutnity to take the test prior to being formally hired into the role.

Post Hire Requirements

Upon hire, paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through our KSD Professional Development Team.
