Job summary

Kent School District is seeking a paraeducator to support elementary students in a school-based setting. The position is offered for 4.0 hours per day under a 190-day calendar with salary detailed on the KAP schedule. The role requires meeting Washington State paraeducator qualification standards and passing the ParaPro assessment if needed.

Candidates may be eligible for the district benefits package; duties include assisting teachers and supporting student learning on a daily basis.

Paraeducator Requirements

Prior to staring, candidates must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington through one of the following means:

• Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• 72 college level credits from an accredited institution
• A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.
  • If you do not yet meet one of these qualifications and are willing to take the ParaPro Assessment, you can still apply. If you are the chosen finalist candidate, you will have the opportunity to take the test prior to being formally hired into the role.

Post Hire Requirements:

Upon hire, paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through our KSD Professional Development Team.
