Job summary

Pasadena Independent School District is seeking a SPED OMEGA Aide to assist the special education teacher in daily training activities and supportive care for students in the program.

The aide will help with instructional and non-instructional tasks, student management, feeding and mobility as needed, and will work under supervision to implement IEP requirements and maintain student confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate required.
• ParaPro Exam or PAC Test (No Child Left Behind) or 48 college hours.
• Bilingual testing may be required.
• Previous work experience with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in routine classroom management.
• Prepare instructional materials.
• Maintain classroom environment and supplies.
• Help students with homework and tests.
• Modify assignments and tests as directed.
• Maintain student records and documents.
• Communicate students' needs to staff.
• Help maintain a safe environment for everyone.
• Assist with behavior management per IEP.
• Assist with loading/unloading school buses.
• Support physical education activities.
• Assist with personal hygiene needs and feeding as needed.
• Move and position students safely.
• Escort students around the building.
• Observe and report medical concerns.
