Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires two years of college credit or an associate degree or a passing score on the Para-Pro exam.
• Must have or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification and De-escalation and Restraint certification.
• Pre-employment Physical Exam required.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials under the supervising teacher.
• Adapts work to support individualized learning plans within lesson plans.
• Administers assignments, tests, and make-up work as directed.
• Maintains safe classroom environment and basic first aid when needed.
• Assists in record-keeping and data collection for IEP progress.
• Assists in demonstrating materials and supporting students in small groups or the regular classroom.
• Collaborates with teachers and parents to support student outcomes.
• Employs de-escalation/restraint strategies as trained and required.
