Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in special education or significant coursework related to services for students with special needs.
• Three (3) or more years of experience teaching students with special needs.
• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Professional License with endorsement in special education.
• Experience with individually administered educational assessments (preferred).

Aufgaben

• Maintain and manage special education and student support services for the school.
• Consult with administrators, teachers, parents, and other appropriate individuals regarding the special education needs of students.
• Maintain and manage all special education and SEC processes for the building, including meeting schedules and documentation for individual students.
• Collaborate with the Departments of Special Education and Student Services for special scenarios and to ensure appropriate services.
• Serve as the administrative designee in IEP, SEC, and eligibility meetings.
• Participate with intervention teams, Eligibility Committee, and IEP teams to assist in plan development and revision.
• Compile, maintain, and file all reports and documentation to comply with federal, state, and local laws and policies.
• Assist in providing professional learning and other resources for school personnel on differentiation and supports for students with disabilities.
• Support the coordination of ESY services.
