Job summary

Paradise Valley Unified School District invites applications for a SPED Autism Teacher at Wildfire Elementary School in Phoenix, AZ. This is a 1.0 FTE interim position from 9/21/2026 to 5/27/2027, with two positions available.

The teacher will support students with special needs, develop individual lesson plans, and collaborate with staff and families to promote academic and social goals. The role requires an Arizona Teaching Certificate, SEI Endorsement, and appropriate core-content

Qualifications

• Arizona Teaching Certificate or eligible.
• SEI Endorsement required.
• Experience with elementary SPED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers assessments to determine student needs.
• Administers first aid and assistance to medically fragile children as assigned.
• Communicates student progress to parents/guardians and teachers.
• Plans and delivers individualized instruction within curriculum guidelines.
• Collaborates with teachers, staff, and administrators on instructional issues.
• Manages IEPs and serves as case manager for SPED students.
• Differentiates lessons to address individual learning needs.
• Maintains confidential student records and data for mandated reporting.
