Brunswick County Public Schools Division in Lawrenceville, VA seeks an Educational Diagnostician to conduct educational assessments, report results, and support placement decisions for students with disabilities.

The role requires collaboration with school personnel and families, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Starting immediately, 10-month contract, salary based on FY27 scale and experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Virginia postgraduate professional license with endorsement in special education or related field.
• Master’s degree in special education or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience administering and interpreting educational assessments.
• Knowledge of IDEA disability categories and MTSS/RtI frameworks.
• Ability to travel between multiple school locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computer-based assessment tools and data reporting systems.

Responsabilités

• Administers and interprets educational assessments to evaluate student functioning.
• Conducts classroom observations to assess performance relative to peers.
• Reviews records to inform evaluation decisions and eligibility.
• Prepares comprehensive reports with data-driven recommendations.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on eligibility and placement decisions.
• Provides guidance to teachers and families on assessment results and interventions.
• Delivering professional development on special education processes and tools.
