Job summary

Pasadena Independent School District in South Houston seeks a Special Education Aide Generic - Resource to assist the teacher in educating students with special needs. You will support daily instructional activities and non-instructional tasks, help with behavior management, feeding, and personal care as needed.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, PAC Test or 48 college hours, and ability to work under supervision. The role covers 185 duty days with a starting salary of $121.32 per day.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with routine classroom management
• Prepare instructional materials
• Maintain classroom environment and supplies
• Assist students with homework, tests and study skills
• Modify assignments and tests as directed
• Maintain student files and records
• Communicate students' needs to faculty and staff
• Support safe, orderly, and positive learning environments
• Assist with individual student hygiene needs and feeding when required
• Assist in loading/unloading school buses and accompany students as needed
• Support physical education activities and overall student mobility
• Orient students to class schedules and program specifics
• Gather textbooks and materials for programs
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or principal
