Job summary

Metter is seeking a SpEd Adaptive Paraprofessional to support teachers and students at NOHS-NORTH OCONEE HIGH. The role involves small-group instruction, behavior support, and preparing instructional materials under supervision.

The ideal candidate has a two-year degree or higher, a valid paraprofessional certificate or the ability to obtain one, and knowledge of child development with strong interpersonal skills. This on-site position offers collaboration with a dedicated staff.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or higher preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent and GACE Parapro Assessment required.
• Valid paraprofessional certificate issued by the Georgia PSC or able to obtain.
• Experience in a licensed child care environment preferred.
• Knowledge of child development, interpersonal skills, and use of office/media equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and students by working with students individually or in small groups.
• Assist in supervising learning activities and maintaining classroom order.
• Provide instructional support as prescribed by the supervising teacher.
• Utilize activities to reinforce skills and monitor student progress.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and coordinating with staff.
