Job summary

Horizonte Instruction Center in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Student Support Assistant (SPED) to work 0.7375 FTE with SCORE program students. Starting wage is $17.50 per hour, up to 29.5 hours weekly, with 1:1 support and clerical duties in SPED settings.

Responsibilities include assisting with IEP goals, health-related procedures, and student supervision. Requires fingerprinting, background check, and health/safety training; part-time status.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent and successful background check.
• Experience in classroom settings and incident handling is valued.
• First Aid, Safety Care, and health services training preferred.
• Ability to use basic office tools and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Assist SPED students with IEP goals, supervision, and self-care tasks.
• Implement health procedures and support daily living activities.
• Move, transfer, and position students safely; monitor interactions.
• Maintain records, collect data, and prepare instructional materials.
• Communicate with staff while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Attend meetings and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
