Job summary

L.Knighton is seeking an experienced Power Trader to lead trading strategies in US power markets with direct PnL responsibility. The role requires independent decision-making, strong quantitative skills, and deep knowledge of ICE futures, Virtuals and FTR/congestion trading.

The candidate should demonstrate a proven track record in financial power trading, risk management, and the ability to scale trading strategies in liquid power markets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in financial power markets with independent trading decisions and risk ownership.
• Strong analytical and quantitative trading approach.
• Experience trading US power markets including major ISO regions.

Job description

We are looking to hire an experienced Power Trader with a proven track record trading US financial power markets.

This role is focused exclusively on financial power trading strategies, with direct PnL responsibility.

Requirements

• $1m annual PnL, or
• 2x VaR, or
• Strong and consistent risk-adjusted returns / ROC
• Experience in financial US power markets, including one or more of:
• ICE / listed power futures
• Virtuals
• FTR / congestion trading
• Strong knowledge of US ISO markets (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, CAISO)
• Clear evidence of independent trading decision-making and risk ownership
• Strong analytical / quantitative trading approach

Preferred

• Experience managing a standalone book or sub-book
• Background in prop trading, hedge fund, or energy trading environment
• Demonstrated ability to scale strategies in liquid or semi-liquid power markets
