Job summary

AeroVironment seeks an Electromagnetic Spectrum Manager to support the MDA Spectrum Management Office (SMO). The role focuses on spectrum lifecycle management, including system certification, frequency authorization, interference resolution, and global deployment coordination.

The candidate will oversee the Frequency Authorization tracker, develop system certifications (DD1494) with STEPSTONE/EL-CID, and prepare frequency requests using Spectrum XXI (SXXI).

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, compile, and submit Host Nation Coordination (HNC) packets and Site Surveys for globally deploying systems.

  • 4+ years of experience within federal/DoW spectrum management
  • Ability to obtain / Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance
  • Experience with Spectrum XXI (SXXI)
  • Knowledge of the NTIA Manual (Redbook)
  • Experience with the GEMSIS suite (Stepstone, Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online [HNSWD-O], Joint Spectrum Data Repository [JSDR], Integrated Spectrum Desktop)
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic propagation modeling, wave behavior, and signal attenuation
  • Experience with MATLAB or other programming languages
  • Knowledge of the Joint Spectrum Interference Resolution Online (JSIR-O) portal
  • Experience with NTIA EL-CIDKnowledge of standard engineering practices
  • Experience with automation tools or programming/scripting languages to aid in data analysis
