Job summary

Expression seeks a Systems Engineer (Spectrum SME) to support electromagnetic spectrum engineering, analysis, and management for DoD and inter-agency programs. You will review proposed mobile provider deployments, perform RF analyses, validate data, and assess spectrum compatibility to prevent interference.

The role emphasizes coordinating with DoD stakeholders, developing validation criteria, and improving spectrum processes, with an onsite requirement at Fort Meade, MD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related STEM field; degree requirements can be waived based on military experience.
  • Experience with military electronics, RF systems, component-level troubleshooting, or electrical systems; strong RF principles and antenna theory knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate technical parameters and operational requirements of military and government spectrum-dependent systems.
  • Review commercial wireless network deployments for potential impacts on spectrum-dependent systems.
  • Perform engineering analysis to assess RF system performance, spectrum compatibility, and potential interference.
  • Analyze interference scenarios involving commercial wireless systems and existing government systems.
  • Develop validation criteria and methodologies to support spectrum engineering.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to derive and validate system parameters from multiple sources.
  • Use engineering and data analysis tools to manage and analyze technical datasets.
  • Record, analyze, and maintain parametric data of spectrum-dependent systems.
  • Generate reports and present findings to government stakeholders.
  • Maintain configuration management of technical data and documents.
  • Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to improve spectrum data accuracy and availability.
  • Support equipment certifications, system allocations, and spectrum deconfliction.
  • Provide technical support by investigating spectrum compatibility and RF interference issues.
  • Contribute to development of spectrum engineering processes, tools, and analytics.
  • Perform user testing and validation of spectrum engineering software and tools.
  • Refine technical processes to improve consistency, accuracy, and efficiency of MSP engineering assessments.
