Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a Specimen Technician II for a Saturday/Sunday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM shift, every other weekend in a hospital-based role at HUMC. This position focuses on complex specimen processing and requires strict accuracy, safety, and quality adherence.

Ideal candidates will have 9+ months of SPT I experience, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and the ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 months experience in SPT I role.
• Medical terminology background preferred.
• Ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour.
• Work in a biohazard environment with safety focus.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in responsibilities of the SPT I.
• Meets/exceeds productivity and quality standards.
• Solves more complex problems on a routine basis.
• Understands impact of Specimen Processing on the testing laboratory.
• Completes required written documentation within time frames.
• Adheres to Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures.
