Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Phlebotomy program or at least 6 months of Phlebotomy experience; Certification preferred.

• Working knowledge of handling blood/body fluids and other laboratory specimens; infection control guidelines followed.
• On-the-job training provided and a background in science or related aptitude is preferred; valid driving eligibility may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen receiving, processing and distribution functions in the lab.
• Prepares, packages and ships Category A/B specimens to approved Reference labs.
• Oversees specimen collection directions per laboratory guidelines.
• Performs patient data order entry and result distribution; provides customer service support to staff and clients.
