Job summary

Labcorp in West Columbia, SC seeks a Specimen Processor I to join our team. You will prepare specimens for analysis, unpack and route them, identify and label samples, and assist with packaging for testing facilities. The role emphasizes accurate data entry and meeting production goals.

The position supports a 2nd shift differential and requires a High School diploma or GED with 1+ year in lab/production environments. MS Office proficiency is preferred; lifting up to 40lbs is expected.

  • Comfortable handling biological specimens.

LabCorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team in West Columbia, SC. Are you organized, accountable, and have always gone the extra mile to make sure things are done right? Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 12:00pm - 9:00pm with rotating weekends 3:00pm - 7:00pm

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
  • Accurately identify and label specimens
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
  • Meet department activity and production goals
  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Resolve and document any problem specimens
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment)
Additional Job Standards:
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Eligible for 2nd Shift differential
Benefits:

  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
