Job summary

Labcorp in Chattanooga, TN seeks a Specimen Processor I to join a fast-paced laboratory team. Schedule is evenings, Monday–Friday, 6:30pm–10:30pm with potential extra hours. Responsibilities include preparing specimens, labeling, routing, and accurate data entry, contributing to high-throughput workflows.

Minimum qualification is a High School diploma or GED, with preferred 1+ year in a lab or related setting. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and pass color vision tests are required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse.
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Unpack and route specimens to staging areas.
  • Identify and label specimens accurately.
  • Pack and ship specimens to testing facilities.
  • Meet department activity and production goals.
  • Data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
  • Resolve and document any problem specimens.

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team in Chattanooga, TN

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 6:30pm - 10:30pm. additional hours required as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
  • Accurately identify and label specimens
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
  • Meet department activity and production goals
  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Resolve and document any problem specimens
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse
Additional Job Standards:
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs.

The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.
