Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated team member for our Specimen Processing and Accessioning role in San Antonio, TX. You will prepare specimens, identify and label them, and ensure accurate data entry to support timely testing and results.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and preferably 1+ year in a clinical lab, specimen processing, or healthcare setting. The position requires attention to detail and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 year or more of experience in a lab or specimen processing is preferred.
• 1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory environment is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in healthcare settings (physician office, clinic, or hospital) is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in assembly or manufacturing production is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Resolve and document any problem specimens.

Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday 7:30am to 4:30pm with rotating Mondays.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens

Minimum Qualification

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification

• 1 year or more of experience in a lab or specimen processing
• 1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
• 1 year or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
• 1 year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment

Additional Job Standards

• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
