Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team in Raleigh, NC. The role features a Monday–Friday schedule, 2pm–10:30pm, with rotating weekends as needed. You will prepare and label laboratory specimens, route them to staging areas, and ensure accurate data entry for patient information.

This entry-level position requires a High School diploma or GED and offers comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities include unpacking specimens, packing and shipping to testing facilities, and

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse.
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens.
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Experience with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
  • Accurately identify and label specimens.
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
  • Meet department activity and production goals.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

Minimum Qualifications

  • Able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Able to pass a standardized colorblindness test

The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.

  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
