Job summary

Labcorp Brentwood, TN is seeking a Specimen Processor to prepare specimens for analysis, unpack and route samples, and accurately label and track specimens in a fast-paced lab setting.

The role requires a high school diploma, potential 3 months of specimen processing experience, and data entry with attention to detail. Schedule is Tue-Sat, 8:00am-4:30pm, with benefits and growth opportunities at Labcorp.

LabCorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team at our facility in Brentwood, TN. Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
  • Accurately identify and label specimens
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
  • Meet department activity and production goals
  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Resolve and document any problem specimens
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
  • 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience
Additional Job Standards
  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
