Job summary

Labcorp in Brentwood, TN is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our diagnostic team. You will prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, unpack and route to staging areas, identify and label specimens, and pack and ship to testing facilities.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and prefers 3+ months of specimen processing or medical/laboratory experience. You will work Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm in a fast-paced production setting with emphasis on accuracy, data entry, and

LabCorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team at our facility in Brentwood, TN.

Work Schedule:

Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
