Job summary

Valley Behavioral Health is seeking a Specimen Processor for the Valley Lab, supporting lab workflow by properly identifying, preparing, and documenting samples for testing.

You will verify patient identifiers, enter data, centrifuge and aliquot specimens, and ensure safe handling of waste and supplies in a clean, compliant environment. This is an evening shift with reliable schedule and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for laboratory testing and analysis including managing specimen containers, verifying patient identifiers on the sample and test request forms, entering data into the lab information system, and ensuring correct specimen labeling
• Prepares aliquots and delivers specimens for testing
• Centrifuges and disposes of specimens
• Resolves and documents any problems relating to specimen samples, collection, and processing
• Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times
• Handles and disposes of medical and chemical waste

Pay

Range starts at $16.00/hour (pay is calculated based on years of related working experience)

Schedule

Sunday - Thursday | 7:00pm – 10:00pm

Job Summary & Deliverables

The Specimen Processor prepares samples received at the Valley Lab for laboratory testing. The Specimen Processor also performs tasks such as matching patient information, data entry, and aliquoting.
