Job summary

Valley Behavioral Health Incorporated is seeking a Part-time Specimen Processor for Valley Lab in Salt Lake City. You will help ensure samples are properly identified, prepared, and documented for testing, supporting efficient lab operations and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include preparing specimens, entering data, delivering aliquots, centrifuging and disposing of specimens, and keeping supplies stocked.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for laboratory testing and analysis including managing specimen containers, verifying patient identifiers on the sample and test request forms, entering data into the lab information system, and ensuring correct specimen labeling.
• Prepares aliquots and delivers specimens for testing
• Centrifuges and disposes of specimens
• Resolves and documents any problems relating to specimen samples, collection, and processing
• Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times
• Handles and disposes of medical and chemical waste

Pay

Range starts at $16.00/hour (pay is calculated based on years of related working experience)

Schedule

Sunday - Thursday | 7:00pm – 10:00pm

Job Summary & Deliverables

The Specimen Processor prepares samples received at the Valley Lab for laboratory testing. The Specimen Processor also performs tasks such as matching patient information, data entry, and aliquoting.
