Job summary

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures.
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas.
  • Encourage process improvements and best practices.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Resolve any production errors as requested by management.
  • Research and resolve production errors while escalating when necessary.
  • Engage in continuous process and service-level improvements.
  • Enforce and manage policies and procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 3 years or more experience in lab, accessioning, data entry, or production.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree.
  • 3 years or more experience working in a clinical laboratory.
  • 3 years or more experience as a people leader.
Additional Standards
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures.
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
