Job summary

Synectics Inc. is seeking a SPT I to provide general support within the Specimen Processing Department. You will assist with A-station tasks, pre-sort, and the pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, as well as imaging and centrifugation.

The role requires good organization, accuracy and the ability to learn specimen types related to tests ordered by clients. You will work in a production environment with emphasis on safety and quality, and on 2nd shift (3pm–11:30pm).

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of computers.
• Experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
• Medical background or hospital lab experience preferred.
• Experience in a production environment preferred.
• Ability to stand, sit or move for long periods.
• Ability to input 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
• Demonstrates compliance and safety awareness.
• Keeps work area neat and clean.
• Strong interpersonal and team communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support in Specimen Processing.
• Handle A-station, pre-sort, and pickup/delivery of specimens.
• Assist imaging/microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting.
• Learn specimen types and comply with test orders changes.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards in a production environment.
• Work in a biohazard environment and follow safety practices.
