Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Specimen Processor in Saint Paul, MN on a contract-to-hire basis. The role involves receiving, logging, and preparing specimens for laboratory processing, ensuring accurate labeling and tracking across multiple sample types.

You will work with various software systems, maintain strict timelines, and support sample storage in walk-in units. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a production environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; science coursework preferred.
• Ability to type, use a keyboard and basic computer systems.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced production setting.

Responsibilities

• Receive samples from couriers and log them into tracking systems.
• Verify sample arrival, inspect for damage, and manage packaging disposal.
• Label samples after data entry and ensure names match requisitions.
• Handle multiple sample types (urine, blood, serum, plasma, body fluids).
• Maintain storage in walk-in refrigerators/freezers and manage 3-, 6-, 12-month timelines.
