Join to apply for the Specimen Processing Specialist role at Labcorp.

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Processing and Accessioning team in Newark, NJ. The position, Specimen Processing Specialist, will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment located onsite with one of our client offices.

Work Details:

  • Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
  • Work Schedule: Monday and Tuesday 8:00am-6:00pm
  • Location: Newark, NJ

Benefits: Employees scheduled to work 20+ hours/week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO or FTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Part-time employees scheduled less than 20 hours are eligible for the 401(k) plan only.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Observe urine specimen collection from patients.
  • Communicate with client office staff effectively.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen issues.
  • Meet department activity and production goals.
  • Accurately enter patient information and identify and label specimens.
  • Pack and ship specimens to testing facilities.
  • Ensure requisitions are scrubbed and samples are prepared correctly.
  • Perform special services like spinning, freezing, and splitting as needed.

Requirements:

  • Seeking a female phlebotomy candidate to conduct direct observation of urine specimen collections from female donors.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year relevant experience (lab, accessioning, production, warehouse).
  • Experience in healthcare or patient-facing roles is a plus.
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens.
  • Strong organizational, data entry skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Pass a color blind test.
