Job summary

Griffin Hospital is seeking personnel to receive and process samples by scanning them into Meditech, and to register employees on specimen collection forms. You will batch specimens for dispatch to Griffin Health’s reference laboratory and track unlabeled samples with issues.

The role requires ensuring accuracy of client and specimen details, evaluating specimen adequacy, and coordinating hand-offs with collection teams. On-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process samples by scanning them into Meditech individually.
• Register new employees using information they fill out and send on specimen collection forms.
• Site batch all received specimens for dispatch to Griffin Health’s reference laboratory.
• Track and manage unlabeled specimens or samples with issues by adding them to the correct shared document.
• Confirm accuracy of client and specimen details.
• Examine specimens for adequacy, integrity, and appropriateness of specimen.
• Hand off effectively with Specimen Collection Team Leads & Couriers.
• Perform quality checks on all specimen collection forms.
