Job summary

Labcorp in San Diego, CA is seeking a Specimen Processing and Accessioning specialist to prepare specimens for analysis, unpack and route them to staging areas, and accurately identify and label samples for shipping to testing facilities.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with prior Labcorp or lab exposure preferred. You will perform data entry, work in a team, and follow a Mon and Wed-Sat 8:30am-5:00pm schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Prior Labcorp experience preferred.
• 3+ months of lab/specimen processing or healthcare exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimens.
• Data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Resolve and document any problem specimens.
