Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated Specimen Processor to join the San Antonio, TX team. The role involves preparing biological specimens for processing, verifying demographics, and accurate data entry. You will meet production metrics and maintain quality standards while handling specimens and coordinating shipments as needed.

The position is on 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, 5:00 pm to 1:30 am, with daily overtime and rotating Saturdays. Prior Labcorp experience and healthcare exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong data entry and computer skills.
• Ability to pass a color blindness test and handle human specimens.

Responsibilities

• Introduce and prepare biological specimens for the lab to ensure accurate processing.
• Verify patient demographic information matches the requisition.
• Data entry of patient information into the system for tracking.
• Meet production metrics and quality standards for timely results.
• Unpack and route specimens to staging areas; package and ship when required.
• Prepare and store excess specimens; resolve and document problems.
