Job summary

Labcorp in Phoenix, AZ seeks a dedicated Specimen Management Clerk to join the team. The role handles specimen preparation, labeling, packing and liaison with labs, clients and patients.

You will research inquiries in databases, review forms for accuracy, and support data entry with strong attention to detail. This on-site role requires teamwork and reliability within a Tuesday–Saturday schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory.
• 1 year or more of experience with Specimen Accessioning and Handling.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.
• Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications.
• Communicates with customers in respectful and professional manner.
• Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
• Provide customer education and information as needed.
• Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
• Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens as necessary.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our Specimen Management team in Phoenix, AZ.

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. Required overtime based on business needs.

This is NOT remote role

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualification

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• One year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
• One year or more of experience with Specimen Accessioning and Handling

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• Associates degree

Additional Job Standards

• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
