Job summary

TriCore, New Mexico’s largest laboratory, is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant for Woodward/Specimen Management. The role supports independent work across several modalities with potential for apprenticeship, and requires regular in-person attendance during scheduled hours.

Candidates with HS diploma and relevant CLIA program completion are preferred; ASCP/PBT certification is valued. On-call responsibilities and a collaborative team environment are key aspects of this position.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• On-call responsibilities and coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties professionally and courteously.
• Maintains supplies and inventories for department.
• Observe students/new staff as needed.
• Demonstrates problem solving to ensure patient care standards.
• Handles hospital communications and on-call responsibilities by location.
• Exhibits effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
• Participates in coverage for holidays, evenings, weekends as required.
• Performs clerical tasks including documenting critical communications.
