Job summary

Aegis Sciences Corporation in Nashville, TN seeks an Accessioning Technician to handle sample receipt, accessioning and rework within the laboratory. You will log specimens in LIMS, verify chain of custody, prepare samples for testing, and support safety and quality procedures while maintaining a clean workspace.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and offers opportunities to contribute to process improvements and data collection. Schedule is Tue-Sat 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
• Relevant laboratory experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open all delivered lab specimens and verify identity and testing requirements.
• Log specimens into LIMS with accurate demographics and testing requests.
• Maintain positive specimen identification via barcodes and chain of custody procedures.
• Aliquot specimens for initial testing and deliver to appropriate laboratories.
• Store specimens per storage requirements for easy post-initial testing retrieval.
• Coordinate additional testing or confirmation with the relevant lab sections via LIMS or leadership.
• Comply with safety and quality procedures and requirements.
• Verify samples for discard through Horizon Notify and QC departments for stock and supplies.
• Participate in process improvements, measurement analysis, and controls implementation.
• Support team goals and proactive collaboration to improve departmental outcomes.
• Contribute to data collection efforts within the lab.
• Provide leadership by example and knowledge sharing.
• Communicate with coworkers, clients, vendors, and visitors professionally and respectfully.
• Maintain a tidy/clean workspace at all times.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education
